Good morning


I am going to be posting only the links to the readings from the lectionary and the Psalms and Collect(s) most days. If you need to see where these readings go in the series of prayers we would say at our cathedral in Mattins or Evensong, click on the Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer link below or go to one of archived posts where I've included the links to the readings within the pattern for the daily offices. You may also want to order a Prayer Book from the Prayer Book Society. I use the Canadian 1962 edition, which is similar to the United States 1928 edition.

Collect of the day:
Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that like as we do believe thy only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into the heavens; so we may also in heart and mind thither ascent, and with him continually dwell; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world wihtout end. Amen.

O God, who by thy Holy Spirit hast given unto one man a word of wisdom, and to another a word of knowledge, and to another the gift of tongues: We praise thy Name for the gifts of grace manifested in thy servant Aldhelm, bishop and scholar, and we pray that thy Church may never be destitute of the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
