Good morning,
I'm hoping to turn over a new leaf (again!) and get back to regular blogging....at a bare minimum putting the readings on line.

I want to share with you one of the hymns we sang at the little Anglican Catholic Cathedral yesterday morning.

It so captured the sense I have of wanting to shake off the lethargy, sloth, drift that can derail a disciplined prayer life and sabotage one's joy.

We sang a more extended version to a different tune, but it was the words of the first verse that struck me.

"Awake, my soul, and with the sun
Thy daily stage of duty run;
Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise
To pay thy morning sacrifice."

The other thing that keeps leaping out at me is Judgment. The Day that's coming.
It has appeared in the readings recently and was the subject of the sermon at Kanata Baptist Church, yesterday. KBC is my other church home.

We don't think much about the judgment to come, do we?

Here's my hope that you will live your life today filled with the Spirit, walking in the Light of God's presence, full of all the joy, peace, love and all the other fruit of the Spirit.......so that Jesus will be lifted up in this dark world.
